Using age appropriate play and outdoor exploration opens up a world of possibilities! Children get to explore their surroundings and have fun while building valuable skills.
Pediatric occupational therapy services
Playful OT Adventures serves the Long Island community in a number of ways, including:

Offering hippotherapy on Long Island
Hippotherapy uses the motion of a horse to treat and improve many conditions and complaints. An American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) approved provider, Playful OT Adventures offers hippotherapy as part of a well-rounded occupation therapy treatment plan. This therapy expands support for sensory processing and teaches behavioral skills while calming and strengthening the body.
Using hippotherapy provides unique sensory input which can help build balance, strength, and both fine and gross motor skills. It can also be helpful in reducing sensory overwhelm and overstimulation.
The benefits of hippotherapy can help children with cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, and more. The calming motion can support those with anxiety, traumatic brain injury, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral disorders.
Outdoor adventure groups
Ready for an outdoor adventure where kids have fun and discover their abilities?
Join Playful OT Adventures for a Long Island outdoor play group, mindfully created to support children’s developmental needs while making sure they have a great time!
This 1 hour session is offered weekly. Contact us for more information and to reserve your spot.
- Toddler Explorers (ages 3-4)
- After School Explorers (ages 5-7, and 8-10)
- Calling All Explorers (all ages)
Adventurers will step into the wonders of nature and unleash their creativity and imagination. With interactive outdoor play, children will be practicing and learning emotional and motor skills in a supportive, community environment.
Developmental Mommy and Me groups
Want to deepen your understanding of the developmental needs of your infant or toddler, while having fun doing it? Join Playful OT Adventures for weekly Development Mommy and Me (all caregivers welcome) classes.
You’ll learn about developmental milestones and how to recognize them, plus how to best support your baby’s development in age appropriate ways.
Each session is 1 hour long, meeting weekly. Contact us for more information and to reserve your space:
- Mat work – newborn (1-3 months), 3-6 months, 6-8 months, 9-11 months, all ages
- Toddler nature play group (1-2 years)
Step into the wonders of development – where learning and fun collide!
Parent coaching
Meet with occupational therapist Samantha for a one-on-one 30 minute session. You can bring your questions and concerns, and Samantha will provide support through all stages of your child’s development.
Occupational therapy evaluation
Contact us to inquire about a pediatric occupational therapy evaluation for your child. Playful OT Adventures serves Long Island families, and evaluates children from birth through school age.
